Godolphin is a world-class global thoroughbred breeding and racing operation with an impressive tally of 424 G1 wins in 14 countries since our inception. Our Darley Stallion roster for 2024 consists of 18 G1-winning stallions, standing at our Kelvinside property in New South Wales and Northwood Park in Victoria.
Godolphin has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Nominations Sales role predominantly based at our Kelvinside operation in Aberdeen, NSW. Reporting to the Head of Sales – Darley Stallions, the Nominations Sales consultant is responsible for cultivating new business opportunities for coverings to the Darley Stallions.
The successful candidate must build and maintain relationships to cultivate brand loyalty. This role requires a high level of customer service including regular contact with clients, both current and potential, and attendance on farms, at industry events such as race meetings, parades and sales is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for planning and management of sales in line with overall sales strategy, prioritising and structuring client interactions and activities.
- General canvassing to identify and target prospective as well as service existing clients to meet sales KPIs.
- Continuously researching to ensure stallion and progeny knowledge is current and accurate of both Darley Stallions and their competitors.
- Provide breeding solutions by determining customer needs, recommending services and providing contract pricing and offers to customers.
- Achieve market growth and increase sales conversion rates.
- Assist the marketing team with the production and promotion of Darley Stallions and development of collateral.
- Provide sales and marketing teams regular updates on weekly results, outcomes and insights, including formal reporting when required.
- Promoting brand loyalty by building and maintaining client relationships by providing excellent customer service and clear and ongoing communication.
- Attendance on clients and potential clients through site visits, attendance at industry events including, but not limited to, race meetings, parades and sales.
The successful candidate will be required to travel and entertain clients, sometimes outside business hours.
Criteria:
- Excellent knowledge of the thoroughbred industries and thoroughbred breeding principles, bloodlines and pedigrees.
- Effective and confident communicator, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated relationship management skills, including working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven record of successfully managing customer relationships and sales territory management will be considered an advantage.
- Current Drivers Licence and Australian work rights.
- Ability to work and travel outside of business hours as required.
We will also consider a junior or those who are new to the industry who have 1-2 years’ experience and the ambition and drive to improve their skills.

Pencarrow Stud - Farm Manager
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Pencarrow Stud team in the role of Farm Manager at their Bellwood Farm property. The unique farm is situated 15 minutes from Matamata, and 20 minutes from Cambridge.
The property encompasses 100 hectares of rolling hill country, making it the perfect location for Pencarrow’s young stock to grow and develop throughout the spring and summer before heading to the trainers in autumn. It is also used to winter mares and occasional spelling for some of the racing team.
The successful applicant will have a wide range of experience in the horse industry and exhibit strong attention to detail.
Some general farming knowledge will be an advantage. Strong communication skills are important, as they will report to the stud manager, but will also have a high degree of autonomy relating to the daily operation of the farm, and livestock.
This property is an integral part of the Pencarrow Stud operation. In the last year alone, seven individual stakes winners bred by Pencarrow Stud have come off the Bellwood Farm hills.

Coolmore - Stallion Groom
Coolmore Australia is a leading Thoroughbred breeding farm located in the picturesque Upper Hunter Valley in Jerrys Plains, NSW. We currently have an opportunity for a stallion groom to join our team for the 2024 breeding season.
Reporting to the Stallion Manager, the successful candidate will have demonstrated proven experience working in a similar role. The candidate will be a self-motivated worker who is reliable, honest, able to work independently on occasions and most importantly enjoy working in a team environment.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Ensuring the feeding and nutritional requirements of the stallions are met on a daily basis.
- Assisting with all breeding and covering processes ensuring the highest quality of care and attention.
- Assisting with all daily duties required in the stallion barn including exercising and lunging.
- Monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of the stallions.
