A colt by Declaration Of War (USA) (War Front {USA}) produced the slickest performance at Warwick Farm on Friday during Inglis’ third and final breeze-ups.
Lot 145 is out of Russeting (Commands) and he was the fastest of the 42 2-year-olds to break the 11 second barrier, clocking 10.34 seconds ahead of the Ready2Race Sale at the Riverside Stables on October 15.
“Bjorn Baker has to be credited with the bulk of the prep for this colt, who is a strong, mature colt with a beautiful stride and he breezed very well today,’’ Hannover Lodge’s Hinnerk Heuppe said.

Russeting was the Group 1 winner of the Tatt’s Winter S., and her family includes the former top-line sprinter and multiple Group 1 winner Schillaci (Salieri {USA}).
Other leading breeze-up times included Lot 154, a colt by Lionheart Thoroughbreds’ Uncle Mo (USA) (Indian Charlie {USA) out of Shamtastic (Shamardal {USA}) who returned 10.37s while a trio of youngsters stopped the clock at 10.40s.
Speedy pair for Ryan Racing
Two of them were presented by Blake Ryan Racing – Lot 93 who is a colt by Fighting Sun (Northern Meteor out of the Commands mare Jaguars, a three-quarter sister to the dual Group 2 winner El Cambio, and Lot 126 who is a colt by Toronado (IRE) (High Chaparral {IRE}) from Passion Cheval (Fastnet Rock). He is from the family of the South African Group 1 winner War Artist (Orpen {USA}).
The other to record a 10.40s time was from Hannover, Lot 146 who is a colt by All Too Hard (Casino Prince) who is a half-brother to the G3 South Australia Fillies’ Classic winner Ana Royale (Anacheeva).
In total, of the 137 horses who have breezed at either Warwick Farm, Cranbourne or Taupo, 82 have run sub 11s with the average time of from all three venues 10.9 seconds.
There is a final small breeze up session of approximately 12 horses at Warwick Farm at 9.30am on Friday, October 12 for horses that have missed previous appearances. Following this session, there will be a champagne brunch that is open to the public where all lots in the catalogue will be paraded in the Riverside pre-sale parade ring.

“With our three major breeze-up sessions now completed, all the information and vision is there for the prospective buyers to analyse over the next three and a-half weeks before the sale.
