Race-day Recap
Trainers Graham Richardson and Rogan Norvall aren’t tempted to do more with debutant 2-year-old filly Lodi Dodi (Blue Point {Ire}) and will spell her with an ambitious spring plan. Beautifully bred from a stallion making family, Lodi Dodi has a bright future.
Wexford Stables have black type targets in mind for Kiwi 3-year-old filly She’s All That (NZ) (Time Test {GB}) after her strong win on Wednesday.
Money Team (I Am Invincible) has been a great pick up for Brad Widdup Racing at the Inglis Digital Sale keeping his unbeaten record for the team.
Another exciting 3-year-old filly for Zousain as Zoufani wins on debut at Ipswich for Tony Gollan who picks up a treble for the day.
One and done for Lodi Dodi
The impressive win by 2-year-old filly Lodi Dodi (Blue Point {Ire}) on Wednesday isn’t enough to push on with her, and she’ll go to the paddock and be set for the spring by trainers Graham Richardson and Rogan Norvall.
Named after a song by Snoop Dogg, Lodi Dodi won by 1l for jockey Jasmine Fawcett over Roger James and Robert Wellwood trained filly Steezy (Russian Revolution) with Andrew Forsman trained filly Cashla Bay (NZ) (U S Navy Flag {USA}) 3l back in third.
“It was a good effort coming back from second-to-last. I am over the moon with that. She will go out for a good holiday and we will get her ready for the Gold Trail Stakes. She has got a lot of strengthening up and growing to do, she is a lovely horse,” Richardson told Loveracing.nz.
She becomes the fourth juvenile winner for Blue Point (Ire)’s current crop of Southern Hemisphere 2-year-olds, led by G3 BJ McLachlan Stakes winner Icarian Dream who is currently second on the G1 Golden Slipper order. He has 10 stakes winners in his first Northern Hemisphere crop, who’ve just turned four, and a total of 15 overall, although only two in Australia so far being Icarian Dream and R-Listed Magic Millions Guineas winner Bosustow.

Lodi Dodi is the second foal of winning mare Lodi (More Than Ready {USA}) whose first foal is 3-year-old gelding My Idol (Justify {USA}) who is a winner this season. Lodi was covered by Written Tycoon in 2023 and exported to New Zealand, but no returns have been lodged with the NZ Stud Book.
Purchased by Richardson Racing from Hallmark Stud’s 2024 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale draft for NZ$170,000, Lodi Dodi’s dam Lodi is a daughter of G1 Waikato RC International Stakes victrix Emerald Dream (Danehill {USA}) who was a good broodmare, meaning Lodi’s half-brothers are Listed winner Zabene (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}), Listed winner Knight’s Command (NZ) (Pins), and the minor winner Zed (NZ) who is the sire of Horse Of The Year Verry Elleegant (NZ), while another half-sister Flawless (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) produced Listed winner Sandtop (NZ) (Henrythenavigator {USA}). This is the family of stallions Deep Field, Shooting To Win, Danewin, and Commands.

Potential black type targets for She’s All That
Wexford trainers Lance O’Sullivan and Andrew Scott were satisfied after the win of 3-year-old filly She’s All That (NZ) (Time Test {GB}) at Te Aroha on Wednesday, as the filly had run into several future black type performers at her previous four starts including G3 Almanzor Stakes winner Ardalio (NZ) (Ardrossan).
“There’s a couple of options for her at black-type level through the autumn months, she could quite easily work her way towards those with no bother at all,” Scott said. “She’s only going to continue to improve and it was a good win with a good bit of authority today. She’ll keep on improving.”

A homebred for Little Avondale Stud, who sold her yearling full brother at the 2025 NZB National Yearling Sale for NZ$50,000 to Hongwei Chen. They stood both her sire, Time Test (GB) who was recently sold to Turkey in 2023 and no longer shuttles from the Northern Hemisphere, and they stand her damsire Per Incanto (USA), as well as his G1 Blue Diamond-winning son Little Brose.
She is the first foal of Imadreamer (Per Incanto {USA}), an unraced daughter of Listed Sunline Vase winner A Chance To Dream (Volksraad {GB}) who is a half-sister to two other stakes winners being G3 Vamos Stakes winner Kiss Me Ketut (NZ) (Danroad) and Listed winner Fast Love (NZ) (Fastnet Rock).
Money Team makes it two
Former $1 million yearling, now 4-year-old gelding Money Team (I Am Invincible) was purchased by Brad Widdup Racing for $55,000 at the 2024 May Inglis Digital Sale, and he’s unbeaten for the stable. On Wednesday at Hawkesbury, he won his second in succession, taking out the last on the card for jockey Zac Wadick by 0.3l from Annie’s Rose (Sepoy) and Power Of The Brave (Brave Smash {Jpn}).
Prior to being sold, he ran ninth on debut in the G3 Ken Russell Memorial Classic as a late 2-year-old, then placed four times in four starts. A son of Champion Sire I Am Invincible, he is the first foal of G3 Epona Stakes victrix The Pinnacle (So You Think {NZ}) who is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Under The Eiffel (Mossman) and Listed winner Tower Of Lonhro (Lonhro) whose 13 wins have earned him over $500,000.
His Home Affairs half-brother is being sold by Torryburn Stud as Lot 220 at the upcoming Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. Neither her 3-year-old filly The Cristal (Pierro) or her 2-year-old filly Great Heights (I Am Invincible) went through a sale ring, and The Cristal has just the one start to date.
Zoufani wins on debut at Ipswich
Zousain’s popularity at stud has been bolstered by a ton of winners lately and Tony Gollan’s 3-year-old filly Zoufani (Zousain) joined them with a win on debut at Ipswich on Wednesday. She became his 35th career winner with 32 belonging to the same crop as Zoufani.
Zoufani absolutely bolted in for jockey Angela Jones by 2.68l over the 1200 metre trip and looks to have a bright future. Passed in as a yearling by Double R Thoroughbreds, Zoufani is the first foal of Hollaback Girl (Your Song) who was a very good racemare winning five of her 17 starts for Gollan. Her second foal, a yearling colt by Portland Sky, was sold by Widden Stud for $90,000 to Laurel Oak Bloodstock (FBAA) at the recent 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Hollaback Girl is a half-sister to $900,000 earner and Group 2-placed Amish Boy (Star Witness) and Listed-placed She’s Our Star (Star Witness), and Hollaback Girl shares a fourth dam with triple Group 1 winner Riff Rocket (American Pharoah {USA}).
The win formed part of a treble for trainer Tony Gollan who also won with Simply Excels (Exceed And Excel) and Free Carry (Bon Hoffa).
