Lot 342: Trapeze Artist x Easy For Me (Vancouver), filly, $130,000
Buyer: Neasham & Archibald Racing/William Johnson Bloodstock (FBAA)
Vendor: Widden Stud
A couple hours into the second day of selling at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald in conjunction with William Johnson Bloodstock (FBAA), secured Lot 342 for $130,000, in what appears to be a shrewd bit of buying when you have a look at the classy pedigree page she has.
Speaking to The Thoroughbred Report following his purchase on Wednesday, Johnson spoke of the opportunity to gain a quality yearling that fits his criteria that they can have a good pedigree and also be up and going early, for a good price.
“We thought she was a really athletic filly that reminded me a lot of Facile, the pedigree married up, she looks like she could be a 2-year-old and one of Annabel’s most forward current juveniles is Tupakara, who is also by Trapeze Artist.”

Lot 342 is the second foal of the unraced mare Easy For Me (Vancouver). She is bred on the same lines as the talented Group-winning filly Facile (Trapeze Artist) and her grandam Gai’s Choice (General Nediym) was a Listed winner and has been a very successful broodmare.
“This filly was bred by Bert Viera and any horse that is bred at Widden Stud gets every chance to mature into a good horse, she wasn’t expensive which gives our clients a great opportunity to get into a classy filly at an affordable price.”
When discussing the background of this filly, Matt Comerford 'Nominations, Sales and Client Relations' at Widden Stud had nothing but praise for her.
“She is a quality style of Trapeze Artist filly, well-related with great athleticism and a lovely temperament, much like Facile did as a yearling.
"She has a great temperament, and I think that will take her a long way, a pleasure to do anything with and she was outstanding throughout the whole sales process.”
Lot 342 was a ‘20/20 Match’ under Stallion Match’s analysis. This means that this mating has two or more successful graded stakes winners with over 20 shared ancestors within five generations. While only 45 per cent of matings are a 20/20 Match, 70 per cent of stakes-winning horses are bred on it, increasing your chances significantly.
