Tattersalls Online and Inglis Digital join forces

Tattersalls Online and Inglis Digital have announced plans to collaborate on an online sale of mares covered on Southern Hemisphere time.

The sale, which is the first of its kind within the global thoroughbred industry, will be held on the Tattersalls Online platform and will feature as the headline session of the Tattersalls Online December Sale on December 11 - 12.

The joint venture between two of the world’s leading thoroughbred auction houses presents an opportunity to purchase mares that have been covered by European and American-based stallions standing to Southern Hemisphere time.

Katherine Sheridan, Tattersalls Online Sales Manager, commented: "Tattersalls and Inglis have extremely close ties and we are very excited to collaborate with them on this unique and exciting concept.

"Following initial discussions with breeders and industry participants, the concept has been very well received and we anticipate the sale will attract a unique offering of mares with Southern Hemisphere appeal to be offered on the Tattersalls Online platform."

Sebastian Hutch, Inglis Bloodstock CEO said: “Inglis and Tattersalls have an historic relationship which is mutually beneficial. We discuss ideas regularly and felt that this sale presented an ideal opportunity for us to collaborate and pool our collective resources.

"There are some tremendous stallions in the Northern Hemisphere which are available to use on Southern Hemisphere time and typically the demand for mares carrying high profile covers is strong.

"Our feeling is that a sale such as this is going to present an appealing market for both vendors and buyers.”

Kick Collective denied ATC media pass

Kick Collective tweeted on Friday that they had been denied a media pass by the Australia Turf Club. “Kick Collective has been denied media passes to the ATC for the season, citing our views on the proposed Rosehill sale as 'not aligning' with the ATC. A disappointing attempt to restrict those in NSW racing who do not accept leadership's decisions.”

Bates comfortable with Pride Of Jenni draw

Declan Bates has no concerns with drawing barrier seven aboard Pride Of Jenni (Pride Of Dubai) in Saturday's G1 Memsie S., which has attracted a field of eight runners. “I'll take that for sure,” Bates told racing.com.

“Obviously, you can't control what barrier you have, I think any barrier I got, I'd take really, it shouldn't be an issue. Generally, I'm happy to be drawn outside plenty of them just so it gives me the chance to take my time early. Seven of eight, it's probably ideal.”

Pinstriped ready for Memsie challenge

Enver Jusofovic is under no illusions about the magnitude of Pinstriped (Street Boss {USA})'s assignment in Saturday's G1 Memsie S. “It's obvious the two favourites are exceptional horses and if they kick off the way they finished off, they're going to be hard to run down,” Jusofovic told racing.com.

“I tend to think the leaders will just build into it and then from the half-mile they'll just really increase the tempo, so it'll be difficult to catch them. But if there's any chinks in either of their (Pride Of Jenni and Mr Brightside's) armours, we've got a chance. I'm really happy with where he's at right now.”

Price/Kent have an exciting Vinnie for Group 3

Talented young trainer Michael Kent Jnr is hoping that Let'sfacethemusic (I Am Invincible) can play a winning tune when he lines up in the G3 McNeil S at Caulfield on Saturday. “He was very good there,” Kent Jnr, who trains in partnership with Mick Price, told racing.com about his last start second in the G3 Vain S.

“Had things have gone better, Ethan Brown thought he could have been the winner. He was a bit keen and lost touch with the horse in front of him, made a late surge and was very good. He's trained on very well, he's just blooming, so we're hoping from a softer draw, he gets the right run and he's the fit, in-form horse, possibly against some horses like the favourite (Growing Empire), who've got Group 1 aspirations. Hopefully, we can get them in this race.”

Collett sweats for Enriched

You only have to look at the weight Jason Collett is willing to ride Enriched (I Am Invincible) at in Saturday’s G3 Up & Coming S at Rosehill for an insight on his opinion of the 3-year-old. “I liked him and I thought enough of him to get down to this weight (53kg) to ride him. I think he’s stakes quality,” Collett told racingnsw.com.au.

“It’s lighter than the usual, I can do a touch lighter than this but I’d need more prep for that and probably a bigger carrot to dangle.” The last start winner is related to Winx (Street Cry {USA}).

Super Seth 3-year-old ready for stakes company

Cambridge trainer Tony Pike believes his multiple black-type performer Poetic Champion (NZ) (Super Seth) is ready to kick off his 3-year-old season at Hastings next weekend. He won a 950m trial on Cambridge’s synthetic track on Friday. “He’s come back in great order,” Pike told Loveracing.nz.

“We’ve been a bit held up with the lack of trial options on the grass. He had been due to trial at Te Awamutu on Tuesday, but those trials were called off. We had the chance to trial on the synthetic today instead and I thought he went very well. At this stage he’ll resume in the Listed 3-year-old race at Hastings next weekend. I’m very happy with how he’s coming up.”

Ten Sovereigns sires juvenile grade winner

European import for Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb, William Strauss, and Michael J. Caruso, 2-year-old colt Zulu Kingdom (Ire) (Ten Sovereigns {Ire}) captured Thursday's G3 With Anticipation Stakes to stay undefeated in two career starts and give his rider a record-tying 15 stakes wins in a single season at the Spa.

“I'm very grateful. It's been a great meet,” said winning rider Flavien Prat. “I've been on good horses and they've been running well. It would be amazing to break the record, but if not, at least we tied it, right?”

Zulu Kingdom is the second graded or group winner for Coolmore's Ten Sovereigns (Ire), whose own wins included the 2019 G1 Darley July Cup and the 2018 G1 Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes. With his oldest crop just three, Irish-based Ten Sovereigns has five black-type winners, with Zulu Kingdom marking his first U.S. stakes winner. Ten Sovereigns shuttled to New Zealand’s Valachi Downs in 2020.

His dam Zindziswa (USA) (Smart Strike {USA}) has also produced Zulu Warrior (Fr) (Saxon Warrior {Jpn}), winner of the listed Prix Turenne last September. The mare's last reported produce is a yearling colt by Magna Grecia (Ire). She is out of MGSW-Fr Zinziberine, who in turn produced three black-type winners, including Zanzibari, a GSW-Fr full-brother to Zindziswa.
