A Group winner in foal to Frankel (GB) and several black type performing race mares are among the standout lots at the upcoming Magic Millions August Virtual Sale.

Magic Millions have released the catalogue for the 2024 August Virtual Sale which will be held on August 27. Among the first 33 entries are some exciting racing and breeding prospects, and opportunities will continue with entries remaining open until August 20.

Group-winning half-sister to Group 1 winner September Run

The G3 Magic Night S. winner Steel City (Merchant Navy) is one of the headline offerings, and the now 4-year-old mare comes off a run in the G2 Missile S. and is being offered as a breeding prospect by the Ciaron Maher stable.

A half-sister to dual Group 1 winner September Run (Exceed And Excel) and last season’s stakes-placed, city-winning juvenile Steel Strike (Exceed And Excel), Steel City is out of Group 3 winner Pittsburgh Flyer (Street Cry {Ire}), who is a daughter of Group 2 winner and Champion 2YO Filly in South Africa Warning Zone (Saf) (Elliodor {Fr}).

Group 3 winner in foal to Frankel

Yarraman Park are selling three lots in this sale, and savvy breeders will note that young Group 3-winning mare Have A Good Day (Ire) (Adaay {Ire}) is in foal to world Champion Sire Frankel who recently sired his 100th Group winner. Have A Good Day is a young mare and this will be her first foal. She won three races as a 2-year-old in France, led by the G3 Prix de Cabourg, and her sire is a son of Kodiac (GB).

Yarraman Park is also offering the winning mare Sogani (Magic Albert) who is carrying a full sibling to G2 Percy Sykes S. winner Kristilli (Hellbent), this is also the family of Group 1 winner Lady Laguna (Overshare). Unraced mare Asap (Snitzel) rounds out the Yarraman Park trio, and the breeding prospect is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Prompt Response (Beneteau) and her full brother Prompt Return.

Clarken Racing have entered their G3 Proud Miss S. winner Boognish (Sooboog) who is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Colour (More Than Ready {USA}) and to the stakes-placed winner Single Blonde (Not A Single Doubt) who was purchased by Coolmore at the recent Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $1.8 million. Another half-sister is the dam of Group 2 winner Derryn who stands at stud in New Zealand. Exciting 3-year-old filly Arabian Summer (Too Darn Hot {GB}) is also from this family.

Racing and breeding prospects

Listed Bright Shadow S. winner Aureus Angel (Turffontein) is being sold as a racing or breeding prospect and she has five wins from 15 starts, while Group 1-placed city winner Queen Air (Toronado {Ire}) is another to give her new owners a couple of options going forward. Also catalogued are the lightly raced and multiple juvenile city winners Croatian Belle (Brazen Beau) and Miss Coota (Spirit Of Boom), The Gateway winner Tick Tock Queen (Bel Esprit) and Flemington stakes performer Get Up Girl (No Nay Never {USA}) who is a daughter of Group 2 winner Fursa (Hard Spun {USA}).
