Coolmore Australia, a leading thoroughbred breeding farm located in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales, is looking for an accomplished Area Manager with extensive experience in bloodstock.
Position Description:
The Area Manager will report to the Stud Manager and will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and care of in excess of 100 mares and foals and a team of staff.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Executing the daily care and supervision of stock.
- Ongoing training and direction of staff.
- Maintaining records of treatments.
To be successful you must have:
- Professional experience in the thoroughbred industry.
- Experience of managing and leading a team of staff.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.

Leneva Park - Stable Manager and Comms Liasion
An exciting opportunity is available at Leneva Park, Victoria’s premier pre-training and education facility, for a highly motivated and enthusiastic communicator.
Based at our state of the art private training and education centre in Longwood near Euroa, you will be working with some of Australia’s most successful racing stables and owners, communicating on a daily basis regarding horse progress, working closely with our head trainer to ensure an elite client experience.
This role is the perfect step forward for young and passionate thoroughbred staff wanting to move towards a future in training, management or administration. An attractive salary package with accommodation is available for the right candidate.
Candidates with horse handling experience and previous experience working in a racing stable or stud are preferred.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Manage external client communications via our Prism management platform and comms apps, including video, audio and email updates.
- Liaise with trainers, owners and racing managers regarding horse movements on and off the property each day.
- Manage internal horse movements and assist with daily work sheets and exercise plans in conjunction with head trainer.
- Maintain stock numbers across pre-training and spelling and develop new business opportunities with new client leads.
- Provide general equine care and assist with general stable duties as required.
- Assist with administrative client management and early stage debt collection as required.
