Recording his first Victorian win and his third at stakes level on the back of Perth Listed victories in 2020 and 2021, Indian Pacific (Zoustar) travelled nicely in the lead and never really looked in any danger of defeat.
One of the 48 stakes winners for his Widden Stud based sire, the talented seven-year-old (winner of eight of his 32 starts) was bred by Bowness Stud and sold by them to Parnhams Racing for $110,000 at the 2018 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
He is a son of the now deceased Listed Talindert S. winner Rosarino (Perugino {USA}) who produced another six winners including the stakes placed Heavy (Domesday) and the city winner Anna's Joy (Wanted).
Rosarino's G3 Merson Cooper S. and Listed Ottawa S. winning dam Rosa's Joy (Rory's Jester) was represented by another six winners including the G3 Dane Ripper Plate winner Rosa's Spur (Flying Spur), dam of the Listed Cap d'Antibes S. winner Members Joy (Hussonet {USA}) - in turn dam of the dual G2 winner Pure Elation (I Am Invincible) whose daughter Hip Hip Hurrah (Snitzel) won the Listed Woodlands S.
Indian Pacific boasts multiple strains of the family from which Zoustar's sire Northern Meteor hails, one which also produced Northern Meteor's grandsire Fairy King (USA) and his three-quarter brother Perugino.
