By an exciting first-season sire son of Brazen Beau whose other son Tassort has made such a great start to his stud career, she is a daughter of a G2 Schillaci S. and dual Listed winner whose first foal to race - Highly Ambitious (Written Tycoon) - is a metropolitan winner.
Hailing from the family of the stakes winners Party Boy (Jeune {GB}), Rory's Classic (Rory's Jester) and All Classic (St Covet), her pedigree features a 5 X 5 cross of the mighty mare Eight Carat (GB) (Pieces Of Eight {Ire}) via her high-class sons Octagonal (NZ) and Kaapstad (NZ).
Lot 125 - Hellbent x Bold Runner (Choisir) (bay colt)
A half-brother to the city winner Decibelles (Shalaa {Ire}) out of a winning half-sister to the Group 3-placed Sublime Girl (Encosta De Lago), he is closely related to the G1 VRC Derby and G1 Australian Guineas hero King's High and the stakes winners Regal Artery (Kenmare {Fr}) and Arabian Gold (Dubawi {Ire}).
Bred on the same I Am Invincible/Choisir cross as In Secret, he is a descendant of the influential Paraffin (GB) (Blair Athol {GB}) - as is Hellbent's sire I Am Invincible and this sireline picks up strongly on the influence of this prolific family.
Lot 309 - Zoustar x Goldifox (Foxwedge) (bay filly)
She is the first foal for a stakes-placed Flemington winner from the immediate family of the G2 VRC Sires' Produce S. winner Twilight Royale (Testa Rossa).
Bred on the same Zoustar/Fastnet Rock cross as the Group 1 gallopers Joliestar and Zougotcha (and four other stakes winners amongst the 47 winners from 64 runners), she is a descendant of the influential Stolen Hour (USA) (Mr Busher {USA}) as is Zoustar's damsire Redoute's Choice... and this is one of the great families to line-breed to with just a couple of examples including Alabama Express and Giga Kick (Scissor Kick).
Lot 481 - Cosmic Force x Miss Marilyn (Redente) (bay colt)
By a young stallion already making his presence felt with his three debut crop winners - and bred on the same Cosmic Force/Danehill (USA) cross as the stakes-placed Full Force - he is out of a lightly raced winning half-sister to two durable and classy gallopers. Both by Strategic - the outstanding sprinter Mistegic, winner of the G1 The Galaxy, three Group 2 races and a Listed event - and Rightson, a Listed winner who was in the winner's circle on 11 occasions.
Lot 533 - Bivouac x O'Rachael (Northern Meteor) (chestnut colt)
From the first crop of one of Exceed And Excel's finest sons, he is out of a Group 1-placed, three-time winner whose stakes-winning grandam Brilliantdeduction (USA) (Capote {USA}) produced the G2 Magic Night S. and G3 Sweet Embrace S. winner Countess Christie (Marscay), in turn dam of the Listed winner I Have No Fear (Rock Of Gibraltar {Ire}). O'Rachael's (Northern Meteor) 2-year-old Pareto (Pierro) sold for $160,000.
Hailing from the same female line that produced Bivouac's high-achieving sire Exceed And Excel, he is bred on the same Exceed And Excel/Seattle Slew (USA) as two of the former's best grandsons - the dual G1 Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow (Ire) (Helmet) and the G1 Melbourne Cup hero Gold Trip (Fr) (Outstrip {GB}). This is a cross that provides for a cross of the high-class broodmare My Charmer (USA) (Poker {USA}), dam of Seattle Slew and also of Exceed And Excel's damsire Lomond (USA).
Lot 566 - Written Tycoon x Perfect Gem (NZ) (Iffraaj {GB}) (chestnut colt)
He is the first foal for a city-placed, winning daughter of the New Zealand Champion Sprinter, Miler and Older Female Calveen (NZ) (Canny Lad) who is one of the four stakes winners produced by the high-class broodmare Calvinia (Varick {USA}) - also dam of the Group winners Kosi Bay (Spinning World {USA}) and Fireworks (Snitzel), the Listed winner Striker (NZ) (Van Nistelrooy {USA}) and the dams of the stakes winners First Impressions (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle {Ire]), Okahu Bay (Flying Spur), Ektifaa (More Than Ready {USA}) and Thalassophile (Not A Single Doubt).
Written Tycoon combines nicely with Perfect Gem's (NZ) (Iffraaj {GB}) damsire Canny Lad; a cross which brings together Biscay's two most successful sire sons Marscay and Bletchingly and which has produced 21 stakes winners.
Lot 649 - Hellbent x Rose Of Savannah (Fastnet Rock) (bay filly)
She is the second foal for a two-time winner whose first Brazen Act (Brazen Beau) has trialled nicely. Rose Of Savannah's (Fastnet Rock) Warwick Farm-winning dam Savannah River (Encosta De Lago) is a daughter of the wonderful mare Savannah Success (Success Express {USA}) - the G1 New Zealand Oaks and G1 Ansett Australia S. winner whose 10 winners from 12 to race include the G1 WS Cox Plate-winning, high-class stallion Savabeel.
Bred on the same I Am Invincible/Encosta De Lago cross as Imperatriz and Lombardo, she can also boast amongst her relations the oh so tough six-time Group 1 winner Black Heart Bart (Blackfriars).
Lot 664 - Shocking x Savanite (NZ) (Savabeel) (brown colt)
Half-brother to the Listed Auckland Futurity winner Saltcoats (NZ) (Ardrossan), now a member of the Chris Waller stable.
His dam is a winning half-sister to the G2 Waikato Gold Cup winner Singing Star (NZ) (Danasinga), dam of the Group 3 filly Miss Selby (NZ) (O'Reilly {NZ}) as well as two stakes-placed winners and the dam of the triple Group 1-winning sprinter/miler Viadana (NZ) (Towkay) and the three-time Listed winner Indecision (NZ) (Per Incanto {USA}). He hails from the same Prunella (GB) (Highflyer {GB}) female line that produced Shocking's sire Street Cry (Ire).
Lot 713 - Written Tycoon x Snitzel's Goddess (Snitzel) (chestnut colt)
An eye-catching colt with a real stamp of his Champion Sire, he is out of a three-time sprint-winning daughter of Zirna (NZ) (Deputy Governor {USA}) - the G1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders S. winner who went on to be crowned Singapore Horse of the Year.
She was a successful broodmare with her seven winners including the Group 3 mare Crafty Irna (Starcraft {NZ}), in turn dam of the Listed winner Snickerdoodledandy (Snitzel). Zirna's dam Riverly Lass (NZ) (Gleam Machine {USA}) did a great job too - 10 winners from 11 to race with three being stakes winners... this is a real running family. Two of New Zealand's best 2-year-olds - Captured By Love and Velocious - are by Written Tycoon out of daughters of Snitzel, a cross which provides for the duplication of Best In Show (USA) (Traffic Judge {USA}).
A leading modern day line-breeding force, she appears via her grandson Try My Best (USA) and her descendant Redoute's Choice.
