What horse was the one that got away?

Brett Howard: At the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Imperatriz (underbidder), Artorius (x-rays) and Stay Inside (we’d already bought one by his sire, so he came off the buy list). Luckily the earlier purchase (Espiona) goes okay.

Julia Ritchie: Verry Elleegant.

Garry Cuddy: Plenty for many reasons, but Farnan is the one that stands out in my memory. Brutal also hurt a LOT!

Luke Wilkinson: I try not to think about them once you get beat, but I was underbidder on Toorak Toff many years ago.

Sophie Swain: Sweet Idea.

Karyn Fenton-Ellis: He (David Ellis) doesn’t miss many!

Ron Quinton: I knocked back a few Group 1-winning rides back in the day. I didn’t take the ride on Merimbula Bay for Barbara Joseph when he won the Doncaster H. and she’s never let me forget it.

Steve Davis: I always thought Octagonal was cheap from the day I sold him.

Tom Seymour: (Mine is) not going the extra $500 to secure Busking, in foal to Teofilo, that foal turned out to be $7.3 million earner Happy Clapper. That hurt.

Danny Rolston: (I) loved Beauty Generation as a yearling but like everyone, watched him walk right through the (New Zealand Bloodstock) Karaka ring before my very eyes.

Steve Grant: Danglissa.

Alix Turpin: Libertad, if Annabel (Neasham) had her way.

Byron Rogers: Capitalist, just one more bid…

Josh Hutchins: Golden Sixty.

David Ellis: I never reflect on what might have been, always look forward.
