Randwick: G1 Chipping Norton S., $600,000, 1600m

It was another superb performance by Anamoe (Street Boss {USA}) recording his eighth win at the elite level.

The Royal Ascot-bound 4-year-old is one of the 62 stakes winners and eight Group 1 winners sired by his Darley NSW-based sire, a horse who has been going from strength to strength in recent years; his service fee rising from $11,000 in 2015 to $77,000 last year.

Anamoe's dam is the G1 Australasian Oaks winner Anamato (Redoute's Choice) who was campaigned overseas by the David Hayes stable - finishing third in the G1 Hollywood Park American Oaks whilst locally she was also able to win the G2 Kewney S., the G2 Moonee Valley Oaks and the G3 SAJC Sires' Produce S.

Served last spring by, not surprisingly, Street Boss (USA), Anamato missed the previous year to him with her most recent foal being a Blue Point (Ire) filly.

Also dam of the Irish Listed winner Anamba (GB) (Shamardal {USA}) and the city winner Amitto (Lonhro), Anamato has two local daughters at stud - Amitto in late August producing a three-quarter brother to Anamoe (again served by Street Boss) whilst Outline (Lonhro) was served last spring by Street Boss after foaling a Bivouac colt.

Anamato is already the grandam of a stakes performer, one of her unraced daughters producing the G2 UAE Derby-placed Island Falcon (Ire) (Iffraaj {GB}).

Anamato is out of the stakes-placed Voltage (Whiskey Road {USA}) - dam of the G1 Oakleigh Plate winner Drum (Marauding {NZ}) and grandam of the multiple Group 1 winner Grand Armee (Hennessy {USA}).

A highlight of Anamoe’s pedigree are strains of the close relations Machiavellian (USA), Halo (USA), Northern Dancer (Can) and Danehill (USA) - providing for crosses of the great mother and daughter Almahmoud (USA) (Mahmoud {Fr}) and Natalma (USA) (Native Dancer {USA}).

G1 Surround S., $600,000, 1400m

What she lacks in stature, Sunshine In Paris (Invader) certainly makes up for in heart and she really stuck her nose out in this Group 1 mares feature - recording the third win of her five-start career.

Bred by Aquis Farm, she made her way through the ring at last year's Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale - sold by the Blue Sky Premium Consignment to Champagne Bloodstock for $90,000.

The first stakes winner for her Aquis Farm-based, G1 ATC Sires' Produce Stakes-winning sire, a son of Snitzel, Sunshine In Paris is out of the city-placed winner Zenaida (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) who has also produced the G3 Typhoon Tracy S. winner Macroura (Snitzel).

Served last spring by Maurice (Jpn) having missed the previous spring to Bivouac, Zenaida - whose yearling son is by Dubious - is a half-sister to the New Zealand Horse of the Year Vosne Romanee (NZ) (Electronic Zone {USA}).

A member of the prolific "Heights" family, Sunshine In Paris is bred on a 6 X 6 cross of Special (USA) (Forli {Arg}) via her grandson Fairy King (USA) and son Nureyev (USA).

G2 Sweet Embrace S., $250,000, 1200m

Having her nose out at the right time in an exciting tight finish, Lazzago (Capitalist) is building a nice record - this win her second from just three starts.

Bred by Robert Anderson and sold through the Widden Stud draft to Woppitt Bloodstock for $460,000 at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Lazzago is her Newgate Farm-based sire's 11th stakes winner.

She is the second foal (her first, the lightly raced Gemstar by Zoustar who is showing some ability for the Danny O'Brien stable) for the multiple city winner Lake Como (NZ) (Pins).

Served last spring by Bivouac having foaled a Zoustar colt, Lake Como is a half-sister to the dual Listed winner Taameer (General Nediym) who has produced the stakes winners Khulaasa (Epaulette) and Bubula (USA}); the latter in turn producing the G3 Ottawa S. winner Aryaaf (Epaulette).

G2 Skyline S., $250,000, 1200m

Getting clear late after joining the lead with 100 metres to go, Corniche (Fastnet Rock) continued the good season being enjoyed by Godolphin's juveniles.

The 192nd stakes winner for his Coolmore Stud-based sire, Corniche is the second stakes winner produced by the G3 VRC Thoroughbred Breeders' S. winner Montsegur (New Approach {Ire}), also dam of the dual Group 3 winner Heresy (Street Boss {USA}).

Served last spring by Street Boss (USA) having produced a couple of Blue Point (Ire) fillies at her previous two years at stud, Montsegur is a three-quarter sister to this season's G1 Winterbottom S. winner Paulele (Dawn Approach {Ire}) and half-sister to the G3 Canonbury S. winner Tessera (Medaglia D'Oro {USA}).

A descendant of the famed matriarch Chelandry (GB) (Goldfinch {GB}), Corniche can boast amongst his relations the big race winners Merchant Navy and Bonaria (Redoute's Choice).

His sire and dam are bred on the same Danehill (USA)/Sir Ivor (USA)/Twig Moss (Fr) cross.

G2 Guy Walter S., $250,000, 1400m

Bringing her good spring form to the summer, Hope In Your Heart (Dundeel {NZ}) recorded the sixth success of her 22-start career.

One of the 22 stakes winners for her Arrowfield Stud-based in-form sire, Hope In Your Heart is one of the five winners produced by Hayaat (Montjeu {Ire}) with the other four all being metropolitan winners including the stakes-placed Rising Light (Dawn Approach {Ire}).

Last spring producing a colt by Dundeel (NZ) (her yearling by his son Castelvecchio has already been named Walk Like A Man), Hayaat is out of a half-sister to the dam of the dual Group 2 winner Single Minded (NZ) (Bachelor Duke {USA}) from one of the world's best families.

A family Hope In Your Heart is line-bred to - her fourth dam Valderna (Fr) (Val de Loir {Fr}) being the grandam of Dundeel's dam sire Zabeel (NZ).

Also 3 X 3 Sadler's Wells (USA), Hope In Your Heart can boast amongst her other relations the G1 winners Baryshnikov, Hallowed Crown, Carnegie (Ire) and Detroit (Fr) (Riverman {USA}).

G3 Liverpool City Cup, $200,000, 1300m

It was a deserved and easy debut stakes victory for the exciting Think About It (So You Think {NZ}) who has done such a great job winning six of his first seven starts.

The 49th stakes winner (and the second for the day) for his Coolmore Stud-based sire, Think About It was bred by Lightning Thoroughbreds and sold through the Newgate Farm draft for $70,000 to Proven Thoroughbreds and Joe Pride Racing at the 2020 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

He is the second foal and second winner for the city-placed winner Tiare (Flying Spur), a half-sister to the G2 Gilgai S. and dual Listed winner Keen Array (Bel Esprit).

Last spring foaling a colt by Wootton Bassett (GB) and the year before a Pierro colt, Tiare is a granddaughter of a half-sister to the Hong Kong Group 1 winner The Duke (Danehill {USA}) from the family of another Hong Kong Group 1 winner in Sky Field.

Ascot: Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas, $125,000, 1800m

Drawing clear from the 100 metres, Admiration Express (My Admiration) certainly appreciated this step up in distance - winning in convincing fashion by over 4l.

Bred by Namerik Thoroughbreds and sold through their draft for $60,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale - purchased by Jason Miller Racing - Admiration Express also won last spring's G3 WA Champion Fillies S.

One of the three stakes winners for her Westbury Park-based sire (a Hong Kong Listed-winning son of Encosta De Lago), she is the sixth foal and fifth winner for the city winner Comme Ci (Verglas {Ire}), also dam of the stakes-placed metropolitan winners Fred Dag (Patronize) and Janaura (Safeguard).

A half-sister to the stakes-placed Subsequential (Second Empire {Ire}) whose son is the Listed Tasmanian Guineas winner Moving Money (Artie Schiller {USA}), Comme Ci foaled a Patronize filly in mid-September, subsequently served by Splintex.

A descendant of Todman and Noholme II’s grandam Orama (GB) (Diophon {GB}), Comme Ci has a Patronize yearling colt whilst her 2-year-old is the Patronize filly Flinders Lane who was unplaced at her recent debut.

Listed Lex Piper S., $125,000, 1600m

Getting the upperhand late, All The King's Men (King's Troop) was gutsy recording his second win at stakes level.

A $45,000 graduate of the 2021 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale (Book 2), All The King's Men was bred and sold by Taunton Vale to Ascot trainer Trevor Andrews.

He is the first stakes winner for his Oaklands Park-Stud based sire, a lightly raced Warwick Farm maiden-winning son of Redoute's Choice from the family of Snitzel. He has had just 22 runners from small crops, nine of whom are winners.

All the King's Men is the first of only two foals for the now retired placed mare Huette (Demerit) whose next foal is Kings Salute, a 2-year-old also by King's Troop.

Huette is a full sister to the G3 Gimcrack S. winner Kiss Bang Love from the family of the stakes winners Key Business and Denmarket (Lord Dane).

Bred on a 3 X 5 Danehill (USA) cross and a 5 X 5 Bletchingly cross, All The King's Men is a descendant of the famed matriarch Teppo (GB) (Ladas {GB}).

Listed Detonator S., $125,000, 1800m

He was odds-on and he won like it, Marocchino (Maschino) going straight to the lead - always in control as he raced to the 12th win of his 46-start career.

Bred by his trainer Lou Luiciani, Marocchino is is one of the five stakes winners for his Alwyn Park-based, G3 R.J Peters S.-winning sire. His dam is the city winner Comesitbesideme (McFlirt {NZ}), half-sister to the Listed Bunbury Cup winner Whipsaw (Hold That Tiger {USA}).

In late October foaling a full sister to Marocchino (subsequently served by Shooting To Win) having slipped the previous season, Comesitbesideme has another Maschino in the Luiciani stable - the yet to race 2-year-old colt Frappuccino.

Comesitbesideme is a granddaughter of the stakes-placed Luluwa (Francis Bacon {Ire}) who produced the Listed winner Valparaiso (Bianconi {USA}) and this is also the family of the dual Group 1-winning, high-class stallion Fastnet Rock and the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude winner Lightsaber.
