Tasman Park retains unbeaten record

Trainer Mike Moroney believes he could have unearthed a future staying star in the form of Tasman Park (NZ) (Ocean Park {NZ}), who kept his unblemished record intact with a victory at Sandown-Hillside on Saturday.

The son of Ocean Park (NZ) made it three runs for three wins when he hung on to beat Netanyahu (NZ) (Alamosa {NZ}) after hitting the lead earlier in the straight.

“He’s certainly going the right way,” Moroney told Racing.com. “Lovely horse and I think for a lightly raced horse, his racing brain is very good.

“He flew out of the gates and we didn’t really want to ride him there – we are trying to find out if he’s got the mile, so we wanted to give him his chance.”
