Young full of confidence

Natalie Young is beaming with confidence ahead of Uncle Bryn's (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) third Australian start at Caulfield on Saturday.

Young, who will saddle up the Seymour Bloodstock-owned import in partnership with Trent Busuttin, said Uncle Bryn has bounced through his dominant 4l romp at Sale on Good Friday and should be winning bearing bad luck in running.

Ayrton up against it

Michael Kent Jnr struggles to see Ayrton (NZ) (Iffraaj {GB}) toppling Zaaki (GB) (Leroidesanimaux {Brz}) when the duo clash for the first time in Saturday’s G2 TAB Hollindale S. at the Gold Coast.

Kent Jnr, who trains the Roll The Dice Racing-owned gelding in partnership with Mick Price, was honest in his assessment of Ayrton’s chances in the 1800-metre feature, saying the stable would be pleased if their galloper can get within a couple lengths on the Annabel Neasham-trained Zaaki.

Llyod set for stint on the sidelines

Listed Wangoom H.-winning hoop Madison Llyod will remain in a moon boot for at least four weeks after scans revealed a fracture to her right fibula.

The Victorian-based apprentice suffered the injury when bailing from a horse that reared at last fortnight’s Wangaratta jump-outs.

Argentia to match motors with class mares

Sam Freedman is confident Frankel (GB) filly Argentia has what it takes to sprint with the best of them in Saturday’s G1 Robert Sangster S. despite her breeding suggesting otherwise.

The Fairway Thoroughbreds-owned 3-year-old has been freshened for the Morphettville sprint feature after finishing second over a mile at Flemington in March.

"We don't really know what she is just yet, but later in her career she should be stretching out in distance, certainly to a mile again,” Freedman told Racing.com.

Avalon out of The Archer

Dual Group 1 winner and last start The All-Star Mile placegetter Streets Of Avalon (Magnus) has been ruled out of Saturday’s inaugural running of The Archer after picking up a viral infection en route to Rockhampton.

Streets Of Avalon’s slotholders are now left without a runner after Chris Anderson, the trainer of their desired replacement, said it wasn’t possible from a logistics point of view.

Green Belt injured

The promising Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Green Belt (USA) (Declaration Of War {USA}) is set for an extended stint on the sidelines after injuring a tendon.
