Listed Canberra Cup, $200,000, 1400m
Dadoozdart (GB) (Dawn Approach {Ire}) attempts to go one better in the race he ran so well in last year and he seems to be in similar lead-up form. Sacramento (Pierro) is already a winner over the trip at the track whilst Parry Sound (also by Pierro) is yet to miss a placing in four starts at the 2000 metres. Toomuchtobear (NZ) (Press Statement) also relishes the trip.
Last start Canberra Mile winner Monegal (Lope De Vega {Ire}) is a query at the longer distance but handles all sorts of conditions. Second to her last time out was Five Kingdom (Uncle Mo {USA}) who will be improved. Local mare Maid Of Ore (Duporth) has missed a placing only once in seven starts at her home track.
Listed Canberra Guineas, $200,000, 2000m
Annabel Neasham made a successful raid on Canberra this time last year, winning this race with Equation (Press Statement). This time around she saddles up two chances - Military Expert (Redoute's Choice) who drops in class of a G1 Randwick Guineas fifth and Queen Of Wizardry (Not A Single Doubt) who resumes having shown decent talent at two.
Finishing 4l off Anamoe (Street Boss {USA}) looks good form for Silent Impact (Maurice {Jpn}) and also down in class is Sweet Ruby (Rubick) who did not appear to relish the Heavy conditions in the G1 Surround S.
Von Trapp (Frankel {GB}) has run some nice races in Group company.
Kelvedon Road (Star Witness), Prophet's Pride (Divine Prophet) and Son Of Sangio (Zoustar) are up in class but racing in great heart.
