The old adage of a stallion getting a good one once he either dies or relocates rings true here with the Daumier being the third Group 1 winner (and one of his 17 stakes winners) for the dual Group 1 winner Epaulette (Commands) who was exported to Turkey last October.
A homebred for Godolphin, Daumier is the second foal for the unraced Illustrate (Street Cry {Ire}) whose first foal - the Newcastle winner Depiction (Exceed And Excel) - made his way to Hong Kong late last year.
Served last spring by Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible) - in 2020 foaling a colt by that same stallion - Illustrate is a daughter of the dual Group winner Parables (Lonhro) who sadly died young having produced one other foal, the Group 3-placed Metropolitan winner Marble (Exceed And Excel).
Parables' dam is the Listed winner Fairytales (Night Shift {USA}), half-sister to the dual Group winner Thackeray (At Talaq {USA}), to the dam of the Group 1 mare Politeness (Street Sense {USA}) and to the grandam of the G1 Manawatu Sires' Produce S. winner On The Bubbles (Brazen Beau).
Daumier is bred on a 4 X 5 cross of the wonderful mare Eight Carat (GB) (Pieces Of Eight {Ire}) via her grandson Commands (Danehill {USA}) and son Octagonal (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) and he is the 11th stakes winner bred on a combination of those two stallions.
The first Group 1 winner line-bred to Eight Carat, he also carries multiple Almahmoud (USA) (Mahmoud {Fr}) family strains... Danehill (USA) (Danzig {USA}), Machiavellian (USA) (Mr Prospector {USA}), Halo (USA) (Hail To Reason {USA}) and Northern Dancer (Can) (Nearctic {Can}).

One of the 55 stakes winners for The Oaks Stud's five-time Group 1-winning stalwart Darci Brahma (NZ) (Danehill {USA}), Sierra Sue (bred by J.E Fokerd) has proven to be a bargain buy for connections; secured at the 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock Mixed Sale for a mere NZ$2000 having been passed in at New Zealand Bloodstock's Karaka Sale the year before.
Served in 2021 by Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}), Sierra Sue's dam Centree by Centaine has produced another four winners.

New Zealand Horse of the Year Tit For Taat (NZ) (Faltaat {USA}) also hails from this family.

Remaining undefeated with this excellent performance, Marabi (I Am Invincible) is another exciting type for her Yarraman Park-based sire - one of his 75 stakes winners.
Her dam, who died in 2020 (her final foal being the unraced Siteki by Flying Artie), is the G2 Sunline S. winner Nakaaya (Tiger Hill {Ire}) - also dam of the G1 VRC Oaks and G2 Wakeful S. winner Aristia (Lonhro) who retired to stud last spring, served by Zoustar (Northern Meteor).

This I Am Invincible/Marwina cross has not been given a big chance to succeed with only four named foals - but the three to race are all winners with two successful at stakes level, the other being the triple Group winner Invincible Gem.
Marabi can boast amongst her relations the stakes winners Sir Amadi (Maizcay), Royal Purler (Hector Protector {USA}), Mishani Warrior (Show A Heart) and Calorific (Desert Sun {GB}).

It was another all-the-way Caulfield-winning favourite with Flying Mascot (NZ) (Tavistock {NZ}) further accentuating just what a loss her sire is, the high-class mare being one of Cambridge Stud's late stallion's 33 stakes winners.
Line-bred to the great mare Special (USA) (Forli {Arg}), Flying Mascot was bred by Finemore Thoroughbreds and purhased by Flying Start Syndications for $25,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast National Yearling Sale.
