Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we will aim to give you something to follow.
On Saturday, we fancy the chances of a pair of well-related I Am Invincible fillies in their Randwick and Newcastle engagements while at Moonee Valley we like a progressive Brazen Beau colt who boasts an international Group 1 pedigree.
Randwick, Race 6, 2.30pm AEST, G2 Darley Furious S., $200,000, 1200m
Bred by Gall Bloodstock, She’s All Class was sold by Yarraman Park Stud at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale to Brae Sokolski for $200,000.
She is a daughter of the unraced Viscount mare Shirra Nui, who is a half-sister to the Listed Opunake Cup winner Khemosabi (Commands). Their dam Geordoba (SAF) (Cordoba {USA}) won the G3 Newmarket Eatwell H. and under the second dam is the G1 Scottsville Gold Medallion winner Villandry (SAF) (Var {USA}).

Placed with Chris Waller, She’s All Class impressed during a light juvenile campaign and following a debut third behind subsequent Group 1 winner Captivant (Capitalist), she broke her maiden at Wyong. She was then third in the R. Listed Magic Millions Wong 2YO Classic and runner-up in the G2 Sweet Embrace S. The filly has had one quiet trial and promises to sprint well fresh from barrier six in the hands of James McDonald.
Newcastle, Race 3, 2.20pm AEST, ATS Electrical 3YO H., $35,000, 900m
Californiasilencer (I Am Invincible) is a well-bred individual whose has displayed a decent measure of the family ability at the trials. She has won her last two at Randwick and displayed versatility by handling wet and dry tracks and, with the services of the in-form Alysha Collett, can make the perfect start to her career.
Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, Californiasilencer was also a Yarraman graduate and bought by Asian Bloodstock Services at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $600,000.

A half-sister to the G3 Turffontein Graham Beck S. winner Muwaary (O’Reilly {NZ}), the filly is out of the Listed James HB Carr S. winner Silently (Anabaa {USA}), who is a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winner and Criterion (NZ), the G1 Doomben Cup winner Comin’ Through (Fastnet Rock) and the G2 QTC Cup winner Varenna Miss (Redoute’s Choice).
Moonee Valley, Race 3, 1.40pm AEST, Inglis 2022 Yearling Sales Series Plate, $150,000, 1200m
Taunting (Brazen Beau) fronts up here to the biggest test of his fledgling career and a recent trial success strongly suggests he is in the right order to accomplish his mission. The colt was untroubled to score twice last season and will jump from a handy gate in barrier five and jockey Brett Prebble is also in top form.
He is prepared by Michael Hickmott who took charge of the Bridsan Bloodstock-bred youngster after he signed the ticket for $230,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale where he was offered by Flinders Park Stud.

Looking Back
At Wyong, the wait proved worthwhile with our selection Invincible Vision (I Am Invincible) leading all the way to win on debut as a 5-year-old while Stay Wealthy (Redoute’s Choice) ran second at the same venue. At Bendigo, Cerburus (Dundeel {NZ}) finished third in his first appearance.
