In the build up to the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, we have picked out three yearlings who have had substantial pedigree updates in the past couple of months.
Today, we look at a Capitalist filly whose brother has starred on debut, a son of Zoustar who has received recent Group boosts and a daughter of Overshare, who has benefitted from a close relative’s Group 2-winning credit in North America.
Lot 66 - Capitalist x Athena Lass (Snitzel) – On Account of Newgate Farm
This filly is from a proven 2-year-old family and juvenile brother Profiteer, the first foal out of the mare, produced a significant boost when he produced a commanding front-running performance to win on debut at Flemington recently.
The dam Athena Lass was a two-time winner and placed in the G3 Quezette S. and is a three-quarter sister to Sweet Redemption (Snitzel), successful twice at Group 3 level, with R. Listed Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic, Listed Maribyrnong Trial S. winner and sire Unite And Conquer on the pedigree page. Also from this family is Mission Value (Capitalist), who ran third in last month’s R. Listed Inglis Nursery at Randwick in his first race day appearance.

Lot 535 - Zoustar x Metaphorical (Dylan Thomas {Ire}) – On Account of Westbury Stud
A pair of family members have done Westbury’s colt favours in the lead-up to the Sale with 2-year-old Stormy (NZ) (Telperion) successful in the G2 Wakefield Challenge S. and runner-up in the G2 Eclipse S. while Usmanov (Choisir) landed the Listed Bribie H.
The subject colt’s dam Metaphorical won four times and was a multiple black-type placegetter and is a three-quarter sister to the G3 Blue Diamond Preview winner World Peace (Danehill {USA}), also third in the G1 Blue Diamond S. She has also produced the G3 McNeil S. winner Chivalry (Street Cry {Ire}).

Lot 823 – Overshare x Spirited Away (USA) (Awesome Again {USA}) – On Account of Glastonbury Farms
This filly’s profile has been given a lift from afar with close relative Kalypso (USA) (Brody’s Cause {USA}) successful in the G2 Santa Anita Santa Ynez S. and runner-up in the G1 Los Alamitos Starlet S.
Out of a stakes-performed mare, Glastonbury’s youngster is a half-sister to seven winners, including the G2 Tampa Bay Derby winner Prospective (USA) (Malibu Moon {USA}). Black-type success runs deep in the pedigree with the third dam North Sider (USA) (Topsider {USA}) a three-time Group 1 winner.
