Today, we take a closer look at youngsters on offer at Scone by Foxwedge and Air Force Blue (USA) whose upfront pedigrees have been boosted while at the Australian Weanling Sale we check out a Headwater colt whose half-brother has done him proud.
Scone, Lot 235 - Foxwedge x Stage Beauty (Desert Prince {Ire}) – On account of Ashleigh Thoroughbreds
This colt has current form as a half-brother to recent winner So You Beauty (So You Think {NZ}), whose close relative Group Think (So You Think {NZ}) has also been successful and placed since the catalogue went to print.

The dam Stage Beauty is a half-sister to the G2 Champagne S. winner I Am A Ripper (Mukaddamah {USA}). It’s the family of the G3 Blue Diamond Preview winner Murphy’s Blu Boy (Blue Tsunami {USA}) and also under the second dam are the Group 3-winning brothers Stampede (High Chaparral {Ire}) and Thinkin’ Big.
Scone, Lot 238 - Air Force Blue (USA) x Staten Island (NZ) (More Than Ready {USA}) – On account of Monarch Stud
This filly, who is a half-sister to the dam of last month’s winner Exceltic (Excelebration {Ire}), is a sibling to the four-time winner and stakes performer Liberty Rock (Rock Of Gibraltar {Ire}).

Their dam Staten Island is a half-sister to the Listed winner and Group 1 placegetter Kalamata (NZ) (Desert Prince {Ire}) and she also produced the two-time Group 3 winner Stirling Grove (Mossman). A feature name in the pedigree is Hucklebuck (Elvstroem), successful in the G1 Emirates S. and twice at Group 3 level.
Weanling Sale, Lot 97 - Headwater x Vonzelle (Redoute’s Choice) – On account of Glastonbury Farms
This colt’s half-brother Kensington Kid (Your Song) has recently added another victory to his record with their dam an unraced half-sister to the two-time Group 1 winner and sire Sudurka.
The second dam is a sister to the G1 Australian Oaks winner My Brilliant Star (Copper Kingdom {USA}) and she produced the G1 Toorak H. winner Shot Of Thunder (Thunder Gulch {USA}). It’s also a pedigree that features the G1 Queensland Derby winner Lachlan River (Desert King {Ire}) and the Group 2 winners French Emotion (Snitzel) and French Bid (Anabaa {USA}).
