Hawkes runners favoured

G1 Coolmore Classic, $600,000, 1500m

Team Hawkes will be represented by the in-form duo of Sylvia’s Mother (Snitzel) and Dawn Dawn (All Too Hard). They are both last-start Group winners and strong chances again in what is an even affair.

Sweet Deal (Casino Prince) has been terrific in both of her runs this preparation, winning the G3 Triscay S. before finishing runner-up to Dawn Dawn in the G2 Guy Walter S. She has yet to win beyond 1400 metres and that looks the only negative.

Sylvia’s Mother (yellow silks)

There are no such concerns with Pohutukawa (Medaglia D’Oro {USA}) and she looks to still be at the improving stage and with some luck from a wide alley Invincible Gem (I Am Invincible) can be a player.

Con Te Partiro (USA) (Scat Daddy {USA}) wasn’t far away resuming and is a past second-up winner while Noire (Foxwedge) is an each way prospect. She has a liking for the Rosehill track and has won at this trip.

Fillies to fore

G2 Chandon Phar Lap S., $200,000, 1500m

Probabeel (NZ) (Savabeel) earned top honours in the G1 Surround S. and the step up in trip here will suit her, as it will her arch rival Funstar (Adelaide {Ire}) who had to settle for second in the Randwick feature.

She had Probabeel’s measure in their spring meetings and should be sharper for her latest outing. They are both top class fillies and look poised to fight out the finish again.

Probabeel (NZ)

Spend (Snitzel) is a lightly-tried colt with plenty more to offer and he looks sure to play a role in the finish. Funstar’s stablemate Kubrick (Shooting To Win) isn’t out of it either.

He was unplaced when resuming in the G2 Hobartville S. on a soft track and any improvement in the underfoot conditions will suit the colt who was Group 1 placed last season and won the $1 million Bondi in the spring.

Jack’s the lad

G2 Hyland Race Colours Ajax S., $200,000, 1500m

Quackerjack (Not A Single Doubt) won the G2 Villiers S. last December and he picked up where he left off with victory off a break in the G3 Liverpool City Cup. He is both tough and genuine and rates highly again.

Cascadian (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) has an opportunity to get his campaign back on track after he copped a buffeting when fifth behind Quackerjack. With an uninterrupted run he can make his presence felt.

Quackerjack (red and yellow silks)

Rock (Pierro) was a sound third in the same race when resuming and he’s undefeated second-up while Imaging (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) also has a tidy record with the benefit of a run under his belt and he has appeal at odds.

Night’s Watch (NZ) (Redwood {GB}) can mix his form, but at best the Group 1 performer is no forlorn chance while Vegadaze (Lope De Vega {Ire}) is in good touch and is a two-time winner on the course.

Mustajeer makes sense

G3 TAB Sky High S., $350,000, 2000m

Mustajeer (GB) (Medicean {GB}) resumed in outstanding style with victory in the Listed Parramatta Cup and will no doubt be all the better for the run. He is suited over more ground, but still fresh enough to give this a shake.

Norway (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) will make his Australian debut after winning the G3 Paddy Power S. in Ireland in the spring and has had a couple of trials. Stablemate Life Less Ordinary (Ire) (Thewayyouare {USA}) has race fitness on his side and is coming back from the G1 Chipping Norton S.

Mustajeer (GB) (blue, black and white check)

Master Of Wine (Ger) (Maxios {GB}) was a stylish last-start winner and he’s a promising sort well capable of making an impact and Djukon (GB) (Jukebox Jury {Ire}) will strip fitter for his resuming run and can show sharp improvement as a past second-up winner.

Danceteria (Fr) (Redoute’s Choice) is a European Group 1 winner and if he can find his best form he is entitled to respect. The extra distance will be in his favour.

Aiming for the top

G3 Bowerman’s Furniture Pago Pago S., $175,000, 1200m

Aim (Star Witness) won his first two starts before he was out of luck in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic. He was freshened and got home powerfully last time out for third in the G2 Skyline S. and looks the one to beat.

Victorian colt Ilovemyself (Ilovethiscity) looked smart on debut winning the Listed Festival S. and, while this is a step up, he can make his presence felt

Ilovemyself

Osamu (Exceed And Excel) found the line well for second in the Skyline and can improve again, while while Prague (Redoute’s Choice) lost his unbeaten record in the race and his previous wins entitle him to another chance.

I Am Swerving (I Am Invincible) finished off well for second in his first appearance and has place hopes again and Kumasi (Snitzel) was sharp winning first time out at Gosford. This is a far sterner test, but there looks to be upside to the colt.

Glowing form line

G3 Antler Luggage Magic Night S., $175,000, 1200m

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Stellar Pauline (Not A Single Doubt) is match fit and looks primed for a breakthrough after successive placings in top company.

Philizzy (Snitzel) was impressive on debut and then a sound third in the G3 Widden S. and Time Is Precious (Snitzel) was placed in the Listed Festival S. and back to her own sex improves her prospects.

Philizzy (yellow silks)

Dubai Star (Pride Of Dubai) gave nothing else a look in last time out at Canterbury Park, leading all the way and if she can cross from a wide gate without too much exertion a repeat is possible.

Sancy (I Am Invincible) was outstanding on debut but also has a poor draw to contend with and Thermosphere (Exosphere) is improving all the time. She won well in a lesser grade last time out and is capable of going to the next level.

Style of a winner

G3 Canadian Club Maurice McCarten S., $160,000, 1100m

Zoustyle (Zoustar) is making a fresh start off the back of a runaway trial win at Doomben and he has only been beaten once in four first-up attempts. He’s drawn in close and promises to take some catching.

Greyworm (Master Of Design) is on a roll with four wins from his last five appearances and ready to earn a black type credit and his stablemate Diplomatico (Snitzel) is a talented sprinter and what's worth noting is that he has been in the money in all three starts off a break.

Zoustyle

Star Of The Seas (NZ) (Ocean Park {NZ}) was Group 1 placed last preparation and won a recent trial to indicate his readiness to resume. Spending To Win (Snitzel) chased home Greyworm at their last meeting and does meet him better off at the weights this time.

Soothing (Lonhro) hasn’t raced since successful in the Listed Century S. in November and with three wins to her credit when fresh she looks best of the rest.
