A trio of Godolphin-offered entries topped proceedings at the Gold Coast Summer Racehorse Sale with Roosevelt (Exceed And Excel), Lot 1103, topping the bill when he changed hands for $105,000.
The 4-year-old was purchased by Singapore interests with Ultima Racing signing the docket with Jayven See.
Both of Roosevelt’s successes were posted at Warwick Farm where he won on debut as a 2-year-old and added a BM70 victory last season. He hasn’t won since, but hasn’t been far off the mark adding a further four placings in the interim including a last-start second on Boxing Day.

He is a half-brother to the Group 2 winning siblings Renaissance (Lonhro) and Sessions, who was also Group 1 placed. They are out of Seances (Canny Lad), a half-sister to the G1 Flight S., winner Unworldly (Quest For Fame {GB}).
Roosevelt’s close relation Canzonet (Exceed And Excel), Lot 1108, was the second highest-priced offering of the day when he was knocked down to Troy Lavalle, of New South Wales, for $80,000.
Recent maiden winner
Another 4-year-old, the gelding has been lightly-tried and placed in three of his first five starts before he broke his maiden at Wyong earlier this month.
Canzonet is a son of Renaissance with the G2 Perth Cup winner Real Love (Desert King {Ire}) and the G3 Asian Beau S. winner Heart Starter (Domesday) featuring in the pedigree.
Sydney trainer Richard Litt went to $70,000 to secure the 3-year-old Mercury (Brazen Beau), who broke through for his maiden win at his sixth appearance at Kembla Grange in November. The gelding was also fourth there at his last start earlier this month.

He is out of the multiple winner and Group performer Jerezana (Lonhro), also the dam of the G2 TAB S. winner and five-time Group 1 runner-up Osborne Bulls (Street Cry {Ire}).
Litt enjoyed recent success with the former Godolphin horse Morton’s Fork (Ad Valorem {USA}), who won the Listed Xmas Cup at Randwick last month.
